QUICK GOAL UPDATE:

2016 goals:

❤ I move to New Orleans, LA by DEC 2016
CAREER:
❤ I own & operate a small business by MAR 2016
❤ I have a Pilates certification by AUG 2016
HEALTH:
❤ I complete a century ride or half-marathon by SEPT 2016
❤ I read 12 books by JAN 2017

 Currently:

PERSONAL

❤ I got the Ancestry DNA kit from my mom for Christmas.  My boyfriend and I have mailed off our samples and are waiting to get the results in 6-8 weeks.  It was cool to begin filling out my family tree on the ancestry.com website.  It helped to make me realize the legacy. (Buying a ticket to L.A. this or next month.)

❤ I have been talking to people about my move and SO many of my friends are excited for me.  I've even started to get job connections and the low down on the NOLA community.  I'm so grateful to work in such a supportive environment.

CAREER:

❤ I have been operating a new instagram account and am getting some great support from established businesses.  We have been talking about collaborating and contributing to one another, so I'm excited to see growth this way because it's so authentic to who I am as a person.

❤ An amazing pilates instructor came in to the store the other day and gave me some great tips on certifications and  what it takes to  move cities, etc.  I'm really excited to get started and get the certificate ASAP.

HEALTH:

❤ I am registered for the Lake Geneva TRIROCK Sprint Triathlon.  I saw my physical thereapist yesterday and he told me that I should just do the Olympic distance.  I told him I'm already registered, so he said to shoot for TWO races this year.  I'm excited that he has confidence in my ability and might take on the challenge.  If anything, I would definitely shoot for doing the century ride in Michigan because I know some amazeballs cycling coaches and would want to get to know them better through their craft.

❤ I am currently reading The Warmth of Other Suns:  The Epic Story of America's Great Migration by Isabelle Wilkerson.  It's a HUGE book, but reads so easily and is full of information that's hard to forget.  I'm so glad to be reading this and discovering my heritage at the same time.

In 2016, I'm kicking 'it' in to high gear.  My friend Audrey calls it my: year of 'yes'.  And she's right!  It's not so much saying 'yes' to everything, or to things that scare me.  For me, it's saying 'yes' to who I am.  To projects and opportunities that people believe that I am capable of being great at.  Saying 'yes' to the experiences that make me feel tingly, and lift my cheeks to a grin or smile.

I wonder, what greatness have you been avoiding?  Will you say 'yes' to it in 2016 or this lifetime?

Melissa
